CHILD SAFETY AND WELLBEING

OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY AND WELLBEING

Our Commitment to Child Safety and Wellbeing

At Redeemer Lutheran College, the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person in our care is our highest priority. We are committed to creating and maintaining a nurturing, respectful, and secure environment where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered.

We have zero tolerance for child abuse and harm in any form. Every member of our community, staff, volunteers, parents, and visitors, share a collective responsibility to uphold this commitment and to always act in the best interests of children.

To support this, we ensure that:

  • All staff and regular volunteers are trained annually in Child Protection.

  • All staff maintain current First Aid and CPR certification, ensuring they are equipped to respond with care to emergencies.

  • We actively engage students in conversations about their safety and wellbeing, encouraging them to speak up and be heard.

  • We have clear and accessible policies and procedures in place, including:

    • Child Protection Policy
    • Complaints Handling Procedure and Policy
    • Child Risk Management Framework
    • Staff and Parent/Volunteer Code of Conduct

These documents are available here on our college website and are regularly reviewed to ensure they reflect best practice and current legislation.

We are committed to listening to children, respecting their voices, and empowering them to be active participants in their own safety. Through education, open communication, and a culture of care, we strive to ensure that every child at Redeemer feels safe, supported, and confident.

Together, we can build a community where children thrive.
